HOPE - House of people

This project is coordinated and developed by the National Confederation of Misericordie of Italy with the support of the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.

The aim of this project is to leave no one behind and to provide effective support for people in need. The proposal by the Misericordie is establishing a social protection network through inclusive, open spaces for those experiencing temporary hardship, where everyone is always heard, regardless of their condition.

HOPE project pursues following objectives:

  • Increasing the knowledge and skills of network members (associations, managers, volunteers, secretariats) regarding updates to the Third Sector Code
  • Strengthening the sense of belonging to the Movement and the observance of the ethical principles, good practices and existing tools
  • Improving understanding of the new socio-economic scenario through territorial analysis, needs assessment, and enhanced social project-design capacity
  • Consolidating legality, accountability and transparency at all levels of the network
  • Organising local facilities to identify needs, provide specific, high-level services, and coordinate services from third parties to improve their use by disadvantaged individuals

At national level, following actions are planned:

All volunteers (managers, trainers, field operators etc.) to promote an organic and informed vision of the Movement

Providing trained personnel to respond more effectively to the users

Establishing a protection network for social emergencies

Activities aimed at informing citizens

HOPE is also “House of People”, and it is promoted by the National Confederation of the Misericordie of Italy with the support of the Italian Ministry for Labour and Social Policies. The HOPE project arises from the Confederation’s commitment  to provide practical help to the most vulnerable and fragile members of society, at any moment of their lives. The project will operate nationwide for 12 months.
