The Community Contest is part of the “Hope” project, through which the National Confederation of Misericordie of Italy supports a range of social initiatives carried out by the individual Misericordie, also thanks to funding from the Italian Ministry for Labour and Social Policies.

This year there are 4 application fields:

1. Combating food poverty: initiatives contributing to “feeding the hungry” in the different territories involved;
2. Active ageing: leisure and recreational activities for the elderly population over 65, who are fragile and vulnerable, with the aim of promoting active ageing and combating the risk of social isolation;
3. Combating educational poverty: initiatives targeting minors and their families, so that they can learn, develop and express their abilities, talents and personal aspirations, with the aim of guaranteeing all children the right to grow freely and pursue their dreams;
4. Including vulnerable individuals in volunteering: initiatives that offer people with disabilities the opportunity to engage in meaningful, active participation within the Misericordie associations.

The project has a duration of six months and includes several evaluation phases.
